October 16, 2013 at 04:00PM Tomatoes in Mayotte: pest attacks and pruning are penalizing yields

In Mayotte, tomatoes are primarily grown in the open, with extremely variable yields. Pest and disease attacks are the main reason for this variability, but crop management also plays a role, as both pruning and deshooting are practised. A team from CIRAD conducted a survey of market gardeners on the island and came up with ways of improving yields.
