June 26, 2015 at 05:26PM Remote sensing: very high-resolution satellite images are available to public-sector players

CIRAD, the CNES, the CNRS, the IGN, the IRD and IRSTEA are to receive very high-resolution images from the SPOT 6-7 satellites for a five-year period. To this end, the six organizations signed a contract on 18 June 2015 with Airbus Defence & Space. The images will be made available to the national players in charge of implementing public policy, and the scientific community. They will cover France's national territory, including its overseas regions, and may also concern zones in southern countries.
