Prompted by recent articles about a lack of commitment to agriculture on the part of young people in rural areas worldwide, a team of researchers analysed the innovative pathways being taken by Young men and women working in the irrigated farming systems of North Africa. Their analyses, from various disciplinary perspectives, are published in a thematic issue of Cahiers Agricultures.
