May 23, 2016 at 12:29PM Impact assessment, a change in perspective and approach as regards research

Following the recent publication of the 9th statement from the INRA-CIRAD Ethics Committee on the ethical aspects of assessing the impacts of agricultural research, CIRAD President Managing Director Michel Eddi talks about CIRAD's "Innovation-Impact" project, launched in 2014. In particular, he stresses how the statement validates several fundamental choices made by CIRAD, such as recognition of the long term in impact mechanisms, the involvement of the various stakeholders in assessments and the importance of developing an "impact culture", a shift that CIRAD initiated at the very start of the project.
