Ensuring food security, protecting the environment, managing health risks, and improving farmers' living conditions and access to markets are all global challenges for which digital technologies are aboslutely vital. Seventeen French research, higher education and private-sector players have joined forces to analyse and support the development of smart farming in both North and South. Their partnership within #DigitAg was launched in Montpellier on 30 June. CIRAD is contributing its expertise in terms of farming systems in the South, the surrounding issues and the local situation.
