February 19, 2018 at 05:03PM Healthy coffee plants are more resistant to coffee leaf rust attacks

For the first time, a team of scientists has demonstrated that coffee plant vigour limits the incidence of leaf rust. Research conducted by CIRAD, in collaboration with Nestlé, shows that the use of vigorous hybrids, grown under shade with nitrogen fertilisation, helps to limit the development of this disease that is having an increasingly devastating impact, largely because of climate change.
