July 25, 2018 at 03:21PM Research assessment: CIRAD is banking on the quality of scientific content rather than on impact factor

On 3 July 2018, CIRAD signed the San Francisco declaration on research assessment (DORA) . The declaration questions the use of impact factor as an indicator when assessing researchers. The aim of the initiative is to find alternatives to the metrics currently used in research assessment and encourage better practice. CIRAD is also involved in novel approaches for characterizing scientific outputs and research impact on both a national level (EREFIN) and an institutional level (ImpresS).
