Optimising fish feed is the best way of reducing the economic and environmental costs of aquaculture. In order to select the tilapia that best process the feed given to them, researchers at CIRAD are closely studying feed efficiency. Recent research has shown that there is no correlation between feed efficiency and aggressive behaviour in Nile tilapia. These findings will be presented by Hugues de Verdal, a researcher at CIRAD, to the 2 500 participants at the AQUA 2018 international congress, to be held in Montpellier from 25 to 29 August.
