The Task Force Rural Africa, a group of 11 international experts set up by the European Commission in May 2018, submitted its final report in March 2019, recommending and Africa-Europe agenda for rural transformation. The group is calling for the European Union (EU) and African Union (AU) to put agricultural and rural cooperation at the heart of their relations. This reference document is now at the centre of the burgeoning dialogue between the EU and AU on implementation of the new Africa-Europe Alliance for Sustainable Investment and Jobs. The experts, who included CIRAD's Bruno Losch, came up with a plan of six actions that cover requirements in four strategic fields.
