Boosting the sterile insect technique with low doses of biocides transported by sterilised males could improve control of mosquito-borne epidemics, as shown by researchers from CIRAD and INRA, in collaboration with the FAO-IAEA Insect Pest Control Section. Diseases such as dengue, Zika and chikungunya are concerned. The results of this study were published in Communications Biology - Nature.
