From the air, the Madagascan capital looks remarkably green, despite its three million inhabitants. This is because almost half its land area is given over to farming, and one in every five households is at least partly involved in producing food. This new information comes from the Légende project, coordinated by CIRAD, and is very precious, at a time when the future urban development plan for the city is under discussion. Antananarivo would well serve as an example at the 5th Milan Pact Summit, which began on 7 October in Montpellier.
