October 28, 2019 at 10:17AM The first global earthworm map reveals substantial diversity that is now under threat from climate change

Global climate change could impact on earthworm communities worldwide, threatening the many functions they provide. This is one of the results of the first operation to map earthworm populations on a global scale, published in Science on 25 October. The work* involved 140 researchers worldwide, including a specialist from CIRAD, who compiled the largest ever dataset on earthworms, covering almost 7000 sites in 57 countries.
