March 26, 2013 at 02:54PM The key to seduction for the palm moth, Paysandisia archon

Researchers from INRA, CIRAD and the CNRS have made un unexpected discovery in a moth that has been devastating palms: the existence of a sexual pheromone emitted by the male, on its legs. This discovery turns previous knowledge of Paysandisia archon on its head and opens up new prospects for integrated management of the pest. The results were published on 25 March 2013 in the journal Chemoecology.
