In 2018, agroecology is high on CIRAD’s agenda, giving the organisation the opportunity to share experience and to undertake a comprehensive analysis of scientific actions conducted in many different contexts in the global South over the last 10 years. This exercise, rather like piecing together a jigsaw puzzle, reveals the broad conditions required and the obstacles to be removed in order to achieve a successful agro-ecological transition. François Côte, director of CIRAD’s Performance of Tropical Production and Processing Systems department, talks about elements of this analysis.
