Agro-ecology encompasses a range of innovative, sustainable techniques that make use of know-how drawn from agronomy, ecology and local farmers. It offers many advantages for tackling the future challenges facing humankind (farmer resilience, food security, environmental benefits). However, there are still obstacles, such as increased workload and the need to support farmers and supply chain restructuring. A series of videos on the messages drawn from a conference on "Agro-ecology: a solution for the agricultural transition in the global South?", organized by CIRAD and the AFD on 26 February, during the Paris International Agricultural Show (videos in French).
